Job Description

SUMMARY
Manage and coordinate the operational functions for Vestcom’s Columbus, OH facility. Ensure production and scheduling are performed in a cost-effective manner, while providing total customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: 
•  Understands all aspects of the Production facility – printing, label/die cutting, distribution/shipping.  Be ready, willing, and able to step in and perform any job function in the facility.
•  Establish culture and procedures for a safe and clean work environment following the “Safety First” principle.
•  Manage facility towards operational efficiency using a metrics-driven approach for labor productivity, capacity utilization, and expense management inventory management.
•  Implement culture of accountability throughout facility providing guidance towards every key functional area.
•  Enable a continuous improvement environment for associates.
•  Develop deep understanding of customer needs in conjunction with other parts of the organization, i.e. sales/ customer service/ PMO.
•  Conduct local/site associate reviews and appraisals in conjunction with Sr. Production Manager or Director, Service Bureau Operations.
•  Assist site employees with career goals in conjunction with company HR support
•  Responsible for hiring/termination of permanent and temporary associates in conjunction with Sr. Production Manager or Director, Service Bureau Operations.
•  Maintain facilities and equipment in working order and adhere to specific company policies and lease agreements
•  Establish open communication lines with site associates and peers in other locations.
•  Maintain active, open lines of communication with superiors. Seek advice and counsel in any areas of which you are unsure.
•  Enforce all health and safety procedures as set by company policy, including compliance with lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA requirements.  Completes the monthly OSHA log for the department/facility.  
•  Records and reports all accidents/incidents, as well as near misses, as per company procedures.
•  Maintains departmental SDS manual.

Education and or Experience: 
•  Must have a Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training in printing or manufacturing industry
•  Must have at least five years’ experience as a manager or supervisor in a production environment.
•  Must be available to work all shifts if required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage a facility with up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the    
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and
disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
